
Heidi Watney was born May 19th 1981. She is a famous American sportscaster. She graduated from the University of San Diego, her previous experience in sportscasting includes positions at MLB Network, New England Sports Network in Boston, Time Warner Cable SportsNet in Los Angeles, and two stations in Fresno. Watney was a Clovis West High School student in Fresno. She competed in gymnastics as well as hurdles and diving. One of her achievements was being a National Merit Scholar and attended the University of San Diego on an academic scholarship, where she graduated with distinction in 2003. 2 Watney has competed in the Miss California USA pageant, in which she was the initial runner-up in 2002. Watney is the sister of professional golfer Nick Watney. Seven years ago, Andy Weir claimed that he took Watney's surname to create the character Mark Watney in his science fiction novel The Martian. This was following her name being mentioned on an Red Sox game broadcast. Watney appears in the music video for Dropkick Murphys ?T single "Going Out in Style".
